5 Good Reasons To Choose Keyless Locks
Posted on: 27 April 2016
Although most people still think of a traditional keyed system when they go shopping for a new lock for their home, keyless entry systems are becoming increasingly popular. The locks on these systems are released using an access code rather than a key. As such, they are less likely to be breached by criminals. However, not being able to be picked by a burglar is just one of many good reasons to opt for a keyless entry system the next time you replace your locks.
- Crime deterrent. Just seeing a home with a keyless entry system may send a would-be burglar to another house where he or she knows that the lock will be easier to open.
- Easy and free to change. Changing your keyed locks when you lose a key or when someone to whom you've given a key exits your live can get expensive and time consuming. With a keyless entry system, there's no key to lose and all you have to do to keep a former boyfriend or housekeeper from entering the house is to reset the code.
- Less likely to be locked out of your home. Another major advantage to choosing a keyless entry system is that you're much less likely to be locked out of your home. As long as you remember the code, you can get back inside the house. You'll never again experience that sinking feeling of knowing that your key is still inside the house the second you've locked the door.
- No worries about copying keys. With a keyless system, you don't have to be concerned about the possibility of someone copying your house keys when they are out of your sight, such as when you valet your car, leave your keys on your desk, or take your vehicle in to be serviced.
- Easy access to your home. A keyless lock makes it easy to get inside your home quickly. You don't have to worry about rummaging in your purse or pocket for your keys or dropping them in the bushes at night.
While a keyless entry system may not be the right choice for every homeowner, this type of lock is a deterrent to burglars, makes it easy to change who has access to the house, and is much less likely to lock you on the outside of your own home. It's certainly worth considering the next time you speak to a locksmith.
